Maintains standardized drug and pharmacy related databases including changes/ updates to drug records/tables/files. Analyzes, researches, and resolves specific and systemic anomalies and validates for accurate and complete clinical and financial information. Identifies, designs, creates, and analyzes exception-based and ad hoc reporting and monitoring tools. Supports administration of the Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) 340B Program database tool.
Bachelor’s Degree in science, math, business, computer science or equivalent experience.
Three years of experience required in inpatient pharmacy, utilizing, maintaining, and analyzing complex clinical application processes and systems (e.g., AMDS, EMR) applied in the medication purchasing, ordering, dispensing, administration, and charging process; five years preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics required. Proficiency with pharmacy processes; specifically how they interrelate with system capabilities, clinical services’ needs, and regulatory requirements preferred. Inpatient or outpatient Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Purchasing Technician experience required.
Demonstrated ability to perform system record/table/file maintenance.
Ability to utilize Excel, Access, and other applications for data retrieval, analysis and, decision-making.
Thorough understanding of current developments and trends in data processing and health care systems.
Demonstrated skills in systematic problem solving, research, analysis, documentation, and resolution.
Demonstrated ability to use professional judgment, prioritize responsibilities/workload and redefine job functions and work flow, meet deadlines and produce an accurate work product, and work with limited supervision.
Demonstrated ability to apply chain-of-command communication protocols.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills that encourage effective working relationships.
Solid customer-support aptitude utilizing effective verbal and written communication skills.
