The System Engineer III-Network serves as the intermediate technical member of the engineering team.  This position is a member of the Field Technical Services team which is comprised of four groups: 1) Network Engineering (Campus LAN, Lifecycle) 2) IS Construction Services/New Site Build 3) Wireless, 4) Telecom.   


While the primary focus of this position will be the (1) network engineering functions and (2) IS Construction, the engineer will also have opportunities to step in and contribute to the other related Field Technical Services disciplines as needed.  Experience across multiple of these focus areas is strongly preferred.  This System Engineer will focus on switch installation, code upgrades, lifecycle planning and implementation for the system of hospitals and clinics that depend on our network.


The System Engineer-Network on the Field Technical Services team works closely with Enterprise Network teams to design, build, and maintain critical infrastructure that is key to the success of Legacy Health’s mission to deliver top quality care to our patients. If you like to learn new technologies and solve complex technical challenges, then consider applying to join this team of experienced and high-performing engineers. 


 A preferred candidate would have experience with: Juniper/JUNOS, Cisco IOS, Cisco ACI.   


The System Engineer III works with customers, stakeholders, analysts, architects, and other engineers to troubleshoot and find root cause of technology and security defects. They must be excellent team players and have demonstrated experience across multiple systems. The System Engineer III may be a thought leader for certain technologies.


Education:   Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, computer science, math, information systems, statistics or business required.  Relevant experience (min. of 4 years) may be substituted for educational requirements.


Experience: 2+ years of experience in delivery of IT solutions to include server, storage, network, client systems engineering and/or security engineering required. 3-5+ years of experience preferred.  


Skills: Thorough understanding of current development and trends in Information Technology and intermediate level experience in one or more of the following domains:


Infrastructure engineering: network, server, storage, voice, and/or information security

Software engineering

Business Intelligence

Data center engineering

Data architecture and data exchange

Windows and Linux

Database engineering

Public cloud environments


Strong soft skills, verbal and written communications, including the ability to turn complex technical topics into understandable terminology is a necessity.


This position must have the proven ability lead intermediate projects and initiatives from kick off to completion.
