Responsibilities

The Surgery Access Coordinator (SAC) provides oversight of care coordination for patients undergoing surgery/procedures with anesthesia. The primary role of the SAC is to collaborate and liaise with providers offices, pre-admission services and operational leaders to ensure patients are optimally prepared for surgery including compliance to regulatory and organizational requirements. The SAC establishes and maintains relationships and communication with providers by partnering with Surgical & Interventional Services leadership to provide exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
  • Associate Degree OR equivalent experience in a related field required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Demonstrated customer-service experience using problem-resolution skills required.
  • 2 years minimum experience in healthcare (acute care preferred).
  • Previous experience in surgery scheduling processes preferred.

 

Skills:

  • High level of communication skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written formats.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of patient flow within a perioperative setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively prioritize multiple competing needs.
  • Attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to facilitate a high level of customer service to both patients and providers.
  • Demonstrated skills and expertise managing change and influencing positive cultures.
  • EPIC/Optime and general computer skills including MS applications.
