Evaluates assesses, plans, and implements patient specific plan of care for burn patients within the Oregon Burn Center and outpatient wound clinic. Provides continuum of care for burn patient between acute and outpatient settings. Participates in school reentry program, research studies, and/or community support groups. Collaborates with the Legacy Burn and the Oregon Burn Center interdisciplinary treatment teams.
Previous experience in evaluation and treatment of burn and wound diagnoses within the acute and/or outpatient setting, including measurement and fitting for compression garments, preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program approved by the Occupational Therapy Association.
Skills:
Able to render patient services and supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA/COTA), Therapy Aides and students.
Excellent organizational skills to facilitate program development.
Demonstrates competency, as appropriate to the ages of patients served, in the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patients needs; of knowledge of normal growth and development; and an understanding of the range of the treatment needed.
Skilled in home program development and family training.
Knowledge in appropriate selection and use of DME (adaptive equipment.)
Computer skills.
