Responsibilities

The Biomedical Equipment Technician II provides and documents installation, inspection, calibration, repairs, and planned maintenance of most classes of medical equipment. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in biomedical or electronics technology from college or technical school, and/or equivalent training and experience required.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years medical equipment service experience required. 
  • Certification may substitute for one year of required experience. 
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

 

SKILLS:

  • Effective English communication skills (both verbally and in writing).
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment.

Licensure

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Current, valid applicable driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurance carrier requirements.
  • Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES); Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET); or Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) preferred.

Pay Range

USD $36.68 - USD $52.44 /Hr.

Working Conditions

Risk of exposure to blood and body fluids . Risk of exposure to waste anesthesia gases Annual E required . Must be able to lift push pull 40 60 pounds. Risk of exposure to hazardous airborne pathogens particles Annual N95 HMR Full Face fit testing and E required .
