As a Senior Clinic Assistant, your workdays will be varied and engaging. You may be heavily involved with patient registration and clerical support, authorizing procedures and utilizing your knowledge of insurance plans and coding. The Sr Clinic Assistant provides complex and diversified clerical and office support that requires advanced administrative skills and knowledge of one or more outpatient clinic operations.
Requires breadth and capacity to function as “one-person office” in a health care setting.
Requires significant experience with and knowledge of insurance plans and benefit designs, and authorization procedures, and knowledge of CPT and ICD coding.
Work is generally performed independently requiring judgment and problem solving skills under limited supervision. May assist with orientation of new personnel, as well as assisting mulitple clinics in a support funtion role.
Education:
Associate’s degree in business, healthcare or the equivalent experience required.
2-3 years experience in a clinic setting required.
Experience:
Computer knowledge and keyboarding experience required.
Demonstrated knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding required.
Knowledge of health insurance practices required.
Skills:
Solid verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated problem solving abilities, decision making skills and attention to detail. Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment within stated guidelines.
