This position will support the opening of our new Washington County clinic at the Family Peace Center in Hillsboro, Oregon.
The Office Assistant – Culturally Responsive (OA-CR) serves as the first point of contact for patients visiting the clinic. Leveraging their language skills and cultural knowledge, the OA-CR plays a critical role in welcoming and assisting patients and families through the intake process.
This position requires a culturally responsive lens to ensure that each patient and their family receives equitable, respectful, and compassionate service. The OA-CR works closely with both clinical and administrative teams to support efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience.
Greets and checks in patients, acting as the first point of contact in the clinic.
Uses bilingual (English/Spanish) skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.
Collects and updates patient demographics, manages scheduling, and verifies insurance coverage and eligibility.
Assists patients and families in understanding insurance benefits and explores financial assistance options.
Provides complex clerical and administrative support, depending on clinical or non-clinical setting.
Manages transcription, file maintenance, ordering supplies, and office equipment operation.
May assist with orientation of new staff and serve as a resource on staffing or payroll processes.
Performs duties independently, exercising good judgment and strong problem-solving skills.
