The Director of People Strategy & Leadership Development has strategic leadership responsibility for the delivery of People & Culture strategies within their areas, through the people strategy partners (PSPs) and the Learning & Development team. This role will cultivate partnerships with the business and integrate the organization’s business priorities with the People & Culture services.  This leader provides direct oversight, strategic guidance, and management to the Learning & Development team, people strategy partners and those responsible for supporting the organization’s workforce engagement strategy initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the PSPs as thought partners, trusted coaches and advisors to senior leadership regarding People & Culture strategy and business needs and priorities. Ensures that the PSP team are counted on with a “seat at the table” to bring relevant, practical advice to business problems. 
  • Works with people strategy partners, in alignment with subject matter experts in People & Culture centers of expertise (COE), to leverage the tools and methodologies of the COEs to deploy strategic priorities in each of their areas.
  • Individual PSPs provide input from assigned divisions and leader perspective to inform the enterprise-wide People & Culture priorities. The director is a primary “business voice” on the PCSC team, representing and aggregating business input to people priorities and processes.
  • Partners with P&C leaders/team members and senior leaders to develop an organization-wide workforce engagement strategy and associated tactics.
  • Facilitates strategic discussions and input to support the transformation to a learning organization that embraces continuous improvement.
  • Partners with leaders in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to support DEI learning goals and to ensure a DEI lens is integrated into all training, engagement and consulting interventions.
  • Oversee the identification, (re)design and evaluation of competencies or characteristics that define the organization’s culture and leadership expectations. Partners with Employee Relations to ensure leadership competencies are effectively administered and measured. Partners with Talent Planning/Management to provide development and support to the workforce to ensure career mobility, succession planning and redeployment.
  • Ensures production and delivery of high quality, useful system wide education that supports Legacy’s strategies, priorities, and culture.
  • Develops and maintains a high performing team of internal experts.
  • Coordinates and allocates internal and external resources in service of the organization’s priorities.
  • With the VP of People Strategy, serve as a primary liaison to the internal communication team to develop effective internal communication strategies that educate and engage the workforce.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required. 
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience, preferred.

Experience:

  • Ten years of diverse and progressively more responsible human resources experience, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Requires subject matter expertise of leadership education topics and adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency consulting at all levels of leadership and with diverse audiences of leaders, including executives.
  • Experience prioritizing and integrating DEI principles into approaches and services.
  • Prior supervisory / management experience required.
  • Knowledge of lean process improvement practices preferred.

Skills: 

  • Able to translate organizational needs, goals and strategies into practical solutions that support business objectives.
  • Possesses a high level of emotional intelligence and the ability to positively influence others and build a team to work toward a common goal.
  • Ability to use process improvement and project management tools.
  • Must demonstrate effective supervisory, strategic and leadership skills to teams within this leader’s portfolio and model for others in the organization.

Pay Range

USD $86.07 - USD $129.95 /Hr.
