Responsibilities

The Professional Coding Manager plans, designs, implements, and maintains Legacy Professional Billing (LPB) coding compliance related programs and associated policies and procedures. Manages key staff who have a significant role in the oversight of coding and billing compliance. Leads and coordinates Coding Education and Audit programs for Legacy Professional Services. Ensures Legacy Health professional coding standards meet state and federal regulations and accrediting agency guidelines.

 

The Manager acts as liaison between Corporate Compliance, Revenue Cycle, Clinical Informatics and Medical Group Operations.  Maintains System Compliance Program documents as it relates to coding.  Proactively identifies and assesses coding and compliance risks, controls and carries out compliance program duties as delegated according to Compliance Committee and/or Medical and Administrative Directors.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare related field or equivalent experience required.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in clinic setting and two to three years’ experience in billing and patient information regulatory compliance required.

 

Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of standards of all regulatory agencies with jurisdiction over Legacy services.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, research, analytical, management, presentation, facilitation, organizational, consultation and training skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • PC-based computer skills.

Licensure

  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred.

Pay Range

USD $49.56 - USD $74.82 /Hr.
