Responsibilities

  • Performs inspections, planned maintenance, and minor repairs on medical equipment as assigned by Biomedical Equipment Technician Lead.
  • Performs duties in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Uses tools appropriately and maintains tools and work area in clean and usable condition.
  • Completes work orders with complete information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Updates equipment records as identified during completion of work orders.
  • Communicates and/or initiates orders for materials needed for completion of work orders.  Researches and provides vendor part numbers for needed items. 
  • Obtains and processes packing slip/service receipt for all purchased items or services.
  • Coordinates activities with customers, supervisors, and co-workers using effective communication and inter-personal skills
  • Maintains an individual educational profile, which documents that educational requirements are met.
  • Participates in educational programs, in-services, and department meetings.
  • Takes initiative to advance and apply knowledge of medical equipment operation, testing, maintenance and repair.
  • Assists in training equipment users in safe use of medical equipment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in biomedical or electronics technology from college or technical school.

*OR*

  • Equivalent training and experience required.

Skills:

  • Effective English communication skills (both verbally and in writing).
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
  • Knowledge of electronic equipment.

Licensure

  • Current valid applicable driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurance carrier requirements.

Pay Range

USD $32.31 - USD $46.20 /Hr.
