Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists, as well as Therapy Assistants, during patient care activities.

  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment.

  • Perform clerical tasks, including ordering departmental supplies and maintaining accurate records.

  • Communicate acute care schedule changes to nursing staff as needed.

  • Support front office operations, including scheduling appointments, collecting co-pays and co-insurance, and reconciling daily charges.

  • Assist with patient transfers, treatments, and delivery of therapy equipment to inpatient rooms upon request.

  • Manage ordering and maintenance of therapy equipment and supplies.

  • Help ensure clinic compliance with Joint Commission standards under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor.

  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with staff and uphold high personal standards in daily work.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School graduate or equivalent. 

Experience:

  • Prior hospital Physical Therapy Aide experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to work well with others with tact and diplomacy, as there is much interdepartmental and departmental exchange of information. 

  • Excellent communication skills are required to relate effectively with patients, co-workers, and management.

  • Good verbal, written, and listening skills are necessary.

  • Organizational and time management skills are essential. 

  • Basic familiarity with computers, including use of Excel, are preferred. 

Licensure

  • BLS Healthcare Provider required within three months of hire.
  • Rehab orientation on posture and body mechanics to be completed by department.

Pay Range

USD $18.36 - USD $26.24 /Hr.
