Responsibilities

The Vice President / Chief Pharmacy Officer provides strategic and operational leadership to the Pharmacy Enterprise across all Legacy Health System sites. Responsible for developing and maintaining integrated high quality pharmacy services across Legacy Health System hospitals and ambulatory practice settings. Provide senior leadership through trusting and collaborative relationships with medical staff leaders, directors, peers, and senior management to develop, sustain, and advance the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Legacy Health.

 

Within Pharmacy Services, the VP, Chief Pharmacy Officer is accountable for: development and execution of pharmacy service strategy and tactics, system-wide pharmacy operations, clinical pharmacy services, quality assurance, financial management and budget performance.  Provides strategic and operational leadership to a team of directors, managers and staff across the pharmacy enterprise that together will successfully execute pharmacy performance objectives.

 

All work must be performed in Oregon and/or Washington.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's or Pharm.D. preferred.
  • Preferred to have advanced management degree (e.g., MBA/MHA)

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience within health care environment including:
    • Multi-hospital pharmacy operations management
    • Budget forecasting
    • Human resources
    • Patient-focused care
    • Computer systems
    • Pharmacy clinical services management
    • Physician relations
    • Technology applications
    • Cost accounting
    • Team building
    • Reengineering
    • Continuous quality improvement.
  • Ambulatory pharmacy care and specialty pharmacy program services experience preferred.

 

Skills: Knowledge of health care issues, demographics, financing, policy changes.

Professional and effective communication skills. Leadership ability to work throughout the system to accomplish the objectives of the organization. Organizational skills both to function independently and to work closely with other professionals using a team approach. Judgment skills to make appropriate decisions. Ability to handle multiple demands and to respond rapidly to changing priorities. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.

Licensure

Current applicable state Registered Pharmacist License (RPh) required (Oregon/Washington).

Pay Range

USD $143.20 - USD $207.64 /Hr.
