Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Northwest Portland is known for its specialty programs and clinical excellence. Legacy Good Samaritan features nationally renowned doctors in cancer care, kidney transplantations, neurology, ophthalmology, weight-loss surgery, robotic surgery, rehabilitation and more, plus Oregon’s only 24-hour urgent care that’s located alongside an emergency room, with access to emergency care if needed.

The Supervisor Imaging Support is responsible for direct supervision of all support staff and coordination of the day-to-day operations of assigned areas.  Coordinates department functions to allow services to be delivered expediently and efficiently through effective organization of staff and work flow.  Maintains knowledge of department procedures in order to provide assistance throughout the patient care continuum.    Performs “hands-on” functions of daily clinical operations, including file room duties, scheduling, and phone triage. The supervisor holds responsibility for facilitating communication and collaborating with staff, physicians and other providers, other LHS departments, management, and customers in problem solving and project management.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.

Experience:

Three years progressively more responsible experience in a hospital/radiology/patient care setting required, 5 years preferred. 

Medical terminology.

Computer data entry experience.

Lead worker or supervisory experience preferred.

Skills:

Demonstrated ability to supervise people, give appropriate support, evaluate and hold employees accountable while maintaining high morale and productivity.

Demonstrate communication, leadership and team building skills.

Demonstrate interpersonal and effective communication skills that promote cooperation and teamwork.

Works with integrity and effectiveness with staff, administration and across departments.

Ability to withstand varying job pressures and organize and prioritize related tasks.

Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment within stated guidelines.

Intermediate to advanced PC-based computer skills.

Able to negotiate a variety of computer functions and programs (HIS/RIS, PACS, Lanier).

Familiar with the scanning and computer digitizing of paperwork.

Capable of teaching PACS functions to co-workers and staff.

Knowledgeable on the burning of computer CDs.

Comfortable with the compiling and tracking of film studies.
