Responsibilities

Legacy Heath is in a actice search for an experienced Client Systems Engineer III to provide support of and direction including client systems configuration, performance, and operation for the organization. An Ideal candidate will bring strong enterprise level experience with:

 

  • Management of Windows Desktop Operating Systems and Platforms including Windows Embedded systems (Thin Clients)
  • Using Microsoft deployment solutions and tools for Operating System images (primarily Windows 10) in an enterprise environment including:
    • Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
    • Imaging and Configuration Designer (ICD)
    • User State Migration Tool (USMT)
    • Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE)
    • User Driven Installation (UDI)
  • Designing task sequences for Operating System Deployment (OSD) using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Managing Windows as a Service (WaaS) through the implementation of service plans and deployment rings using SCCM
  • Troubleshooting problems with task sequences, OSD errors and SCCM deployment failures
  • Skilled in the practice of remote troubleshooting endpoint issues using standard tools and solutions such as PowerShell Remoting and WinRS
  • Managing thin clients using HP Device Manager (HPDM) or a similar solution
    • Build/Capture Thin Client images for supported platforms
    • Supporting application deployments and upgrades in a mixed platform environment (primarily middleware)
    • Minimizing end user impact through planned maintenance and scheduled updates
  • Install Engineering / Packaging experience creating and supporting application installation and upgrades using enterprise deployment technologies
  • Proficient in PowerShell and other scripting languages and batch technologies to facilitate application installation and endpoint management tasks
  • Understands Configuration Management baselines and can leverage technical solutions and tools to monitor and enforce settings for security and desired state
  • Expert level in the practice of troubleshooting OS and application installation/configuration issues using structured methodology
  • Practiced in the application of Vulnerability Management to continuously monitor endpoint security and apply required patches and updates to minimize risk to the organization

 

The System Engineer III serves as the intermediate technical member of an engineering team. The position will work across multiple disciplines to deliver IS products and services to the organization that scale efficiently while improving performance and minimizing costs.

 

The System Engineer III will work to contribute to strategies, standards, new capabilities, build and design automated workflows, and connect multiple services or product lines within the organization. The System Engineer III will have a background in design, implementation and support of infrastructure, software, applications, and/or security. The position will require experience and working knowledge of Agile and/or Lean methodologies to deliver information services in an efficient and repeatable manner.

 

The System Engineer III works with customers, stakeholders, analysts, architects, and other engineers to troubleshoot and find root cause of technology and security defects. They must be excellent team players and have demonstrated experience across multiple systems. The System Engineer III may be a thought leader for certain technologies.

Qualifications

Education:   Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, computer science, math, information systems, statistics or business required.  Relevant experience (min. of 4 years) may be substituted for educational requirements.

 

Experience: 2+ years of experience in delivery of IT solutions to include server, storage, network, client systems engineering and/or security engineering required. 3-5+ years of experience preferred.  

 

Skills: Thorough understanding of current development and trends in Information Technology and intermediate level experience in one or more of the following domains:

 

Infrastructure engineering: network, server, storage, voice, and/or information security

Software engineering

Business Intelligence

Data center engineering

Data architecture and data exchange

Windows and Linux

Database engineering

Public cloud environments

 

Strong soft skills, verbal and written communications, including the ability to turn complex technical topics into understandable terminology is a necessity.

 

This position must have the proven ability lead intermediate projects and initiatives from kick off to completion.
