Manages the daily operational activities of Crisis Intervention Services in Unity’s Psychiatric Emergency Service that is in alignment with the mission, values and objectives of Unity Center for Behavioral Health. Management is in close partnership with nursing and provider services. The Crisis Intervention Services team is responsible for assessing risk, creating safety plans, and creating patient transition plans. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Completes recruitment, interviewing, selection training and orientation of new staff. Completes comprehensive staffing for a 24/7 service, assigns workloads and monitors quantity and quality of work. Responsible for budgeting including but not limited to monitoring operating budget, approve expenditures, purchases and other all actions to ensure the department is aligned with Legacy budget guidelines. Assists hospital and department leadership in planning and administering program, systems and policies relating to behavioral health care of patients.

The position is specifically focused and will be working primarily with individuals experiencing substance use withdrawal symptoms. You will be working on the new Emergency Substance Use unit (ESUD) located in the Psychiatric Emergency unit (PES) at Unity. ESUD like the PES will be open and function seven days a week 24 hours a day. Staff include nursing, psychiatric providers, crisis intervention specialists, peer support specialists, spiritual guidance, and internal medicine providers. CIS shifts are 12 hours seven days a week 0700 – 1930. Although not required, CADC training and certification is preferred.
